“Why writing matters to you.” #FDDA

Very simple: It matters because it means that I am not my day job.

  1. No, you most certainly are not.

And if that is the case… And you are not your day job… What evidence do we have that you are something else?

Due: sometime in the next week or nine, 1000 words that evoke your writerly tendencies.

  2. Hi Hot,

The main question is, does the work bring you joy? I’m guessing not. The next question is, any chance of a new job? I’m guessing not. Final question, can you become a happy drifter, floating from A to B? I’m guessing maybe and that is hopeful. Lots to be said for cheap, beautiful foreign countries and other young bums. Good luck. 1. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Bless you Duke for all three questions. Bring me joy? I narrowed my post down to one sentence because what I wrote would probably have earned me a wellness check visit from the state. Sadly traveling is not in the cards for me in the foreseeable future (or past). But that’s why we were given minds, I suppose.

      I never saw a Moor ā€”
I never saw the Sea ā€”
Yet know I how the Heather looks
      And what a Billow be.

      1. Life begins and ends in the mind. The prisoner can travel days before the warden finds out. The boy in the hospital bed is not here, he is playing with his dog. The dying parent, arises one last time … everything against the edge of darkness.

        Here I am.
